Swedish Medical Center CT Replacement

Location: Englewood, CO
Client: Swedish Medical Center
Architect: Path 21
Contract: Hard Bid
Size: 1,900 SF
Completion: July 2016

Vertix completed the 1,900 SF CT replacement at Swedish Medical Center in July 2016. The room was a full fit out including the lead shielding. Due to the time constraints of the new equipment the control room and CT room was completed in 6 weeks. Construction was very sensitive in areas as we had to work over operational surgery and imaging centers which required extensive coordination for shut-downs and new tie-ins. This project also required attention to detail when it came to placement of equipment and requirements each piece had associated with it. The Revolutionary CT from GE was the first CT of its kind on this side of the Mississippi.

Lowry Skilled Nursing Facility

Location: Denver, CO – Lowry
Client: Development Solutions Group
Architect: Boulder Associates
Contract: Design/Build
Size: 77,000 SF ($19MM)
Completion: July 2016

A 3-story skilled nursing facility on a 4-acre site in the Lowry area of Denver. The project consists of 84 standard patient rooms and 12 observation rooms. Each patient floor has nurse stations, med gas fill rooms, activity rooms, and staff areas. The first floor consists of a full kitchen and dining, physical therapy gym, salon, and administration offices. Among the many construction challenges were the existing conditions from the now defunct Air Force tarmac area which included numerous underground pipes and structures unknown to the design and construction team.

Continuing our culture of innovation, the exterior skin of the building was completely panelized off-site with framing, sheathing, weather barrier, and final finish (brick and stucco) allowing the building to be enclosed much faster than traditional methods.

Completion: June 2014

A renovation and addition to a 1950’s era building at the Lowry Air Force Base. The 30,000 SF project included complete demolition of the interiors and the exterior front of the building. The existing office space was made into a 6 room dental clinic, 2 procedure rooms, and 32 exam rooms, mainly designed for refugees. The mechanical and electrical systems were completely removed and replaced. The front entry was changed to add glulam beams, storefront, and a large standing seam barrel roof. Hardscape and completely new landscape was added to the site.

To allow DHHA to continue their operations during construction, mobile trailers were set up across the parking lot for patient care. This added the challenge of coordinating deliveries and performing construction near the occupied trailers.

Location: Lone Tree, CO
Client: Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)
Architect: Davis Partnership
Contract: CM/GC
Completion: November 2015

This required complete new Unistrut supports, re-doing the slab on grade and floor duct, new finishes, and new mechanical equipment for the larger GE Cath Lab Equipment. The project was done in a fully functional hospital and was surrounded by the ICU, Emergency Department, and Imaging Departments. Infection Control (ICRA), Life Safety (ISLM), Hot Work Permits, and daily overhead permits required constant coordination with multiple user groups.
